Senseo Machines

The Senseo system began in 2002, the duo created by Philips and coffee house. This new machine immediately made a real board, having managed to attract very many customers quickly. And that success is deserved because the system has many advantages.

First the concept of the machine is to propose a hybrid between expensive espresso machines and coffee filter that is affordable and convenient, but which produces a quality coffee very average. Senseo coffee like a coffee filter perfectly proportioned, topped with creamy foam, foam that we previously found only on the quality of espresso.

This result is due to the use of large pods flexible with a diameter of 7 cm, containing 7gr coffee, under pressure reduced to 3 bars (instead of 10 bars of a standard espresso machine) with a pre-determined water. Let all the other benefits of Senseo coffee. The machine is inexpensive, costing about 60 €, its design is comfortable and modern with rounded shapes and is available in 7 colors: blue indigo, Black intense, Lila, Yellow Light, brushed aluminum, Techno Blue or Orange Acidulate. With all plastic materials and stainless steel, it is easy maintenance because everything is removable, removable and goes in the dishwasher.

A large basement while curves, with a perforated stainless steel tray, provides up to two cups (mug), which is impossible on other systems. The tank is easily removable filled directly under the tap, with a capacity of 750ml is up 5 large cups. The percolation system opens and closes easily with a large latch and can accommodate 2 dose. The control panel is very simplified with only 3 buttons: a large central button light for the setting heater and two other buttons to trigger the extraction with two levels of water possible (1 or 2 cups). The preparation of a Senseo coffee runs in only 2 minutes, time necessary for filling the reservoir, the establishment of the pod, setting heats and final extraction of coffee. On a power of about 1400W, the machine consumes as much a standard espresso machine. The official mark Coffee House is now proposing 14 types of coffee pods but it is easy to obtain from other brands in all supermarkets, known as "pods flexible." There are even tea pods available in flexible. The major drawback of the Senseo system is the relatively high price of these pods, which varies between 0.12 € the pod for packages of 72 classic pods, up 0.19 € for the Pods range City sold per pack of 10. Another drawback, the small amount of coffee that you can prepare at the same time and the fact that the machine is not programmable. The range Senseo 1 enriched by two new models that do not function but offer a different dressing.

The Senseo HD7812 is distinguished only by the quality of its plastic shell: a bright blue color a little transparent with yellow inserts that give it a decidedly young and vitamins.


The Senseo HD 7840 it has a hull while aluminum and especially an overhaul of the shape of its hull. This is my favorite small: it has more straight lines with more angular edges that give it a look very classy.
